VinGroup unveils two humanoid robots from different subsidiaries at ICRA and Computex
Vietnamese conglomerate VinGroup used back-to-back robotics events — ICRA 2026 in Vienna and Computex Taipei — to unveil two separate humanoid robots developed by two different subsidiaries within its sprawling business empire, each aimed at a distinctly different market. One model has been positioned as an industrial and logistics robot designed to work alongside humans on factory floors and in warehouses, while the other has been pitched more toward consumer-facing and service roles, such as guiding customers or assisting in retail and hospitality settings. The dual unveiling reflects VinGroup's broader strategy of stretching across an unusually wide range of industries — from electric vehicles and real estate to technology and now robotics — in an effort to establish Vietnam as a serious player in advanced manufacturing rather than purely a low-cost production hub. The announcements also arrive amid a broader regional surge in humanoid robotics activity, with Chinese maker Unitree recently opening what it calls Asia's first 'embodied intelligence experience store' in Shanghai, where its robots have been shown performing choreographed routines for the public. Industry analysts say the flurry of launches from Asian manufacturers signals that the next phase of competition in humanoid robotics may be centered as much on Asian supply chains and domestic markets as on the Western labs that drove much of the category's early research.
