Meta expands creator monetization tools across Facebook, Instagram and Threads
Meta has rolled out a cluster of updates across Facebook, Instagram and Threads aimed squarely at creators, continuing a platform-wide push to keep influencers and publishers from migrating their audiences elsewhere. Facebook introduced a new 'Creator Fast Track' program that promises eligible creators increased reach on their Reels and up to three months of guaranteed earnings — with the company citing potential payouts of around $1,000 a month for creators with at least 100,000 followers, and as much as $3,000 a month for those with more than a million. Instagram, meanwhile, is testing a feature that lets selected Meta Verified creators add clickable links directly inside their post captions, with an initial cap of ten links per month — a small but meaningful change for an app that has historically restricted outbound links to bios and stories. Threads has also picked up new features, including the ability to add music to posts and more granular controls over whether replies to 'ghost posts' appear publicly or privately. Collectively, the updates show Meta leaning further into direct monetization and discovery tools as a way to compete with TikTok and YouTube for creator loyalty, at a moment when creators increasingly treat their choice of platform as a business decision.
