The round

Applied Compute, a company that offers a cloud platform for enterprises and developers to train and run large AI models, raised $350 million at a $3.25 billion valuation. Crunchbase News listed it among the largest US startup rounds of the week of October 31 to November 6, 2026, and coverage points to an announcement around November 2. Angel investor Elad Gil led the round. One report says Nvidia, Shopify Ventures and HubSpot Ventures took part, and another names existing backers Kleiner Perkins and Lux Capital. Nvidia's participation appears in only some sources, so treat it as reported and not confirmed by the company.

What the company says about traction

  • It launched about 18 months ago.
  • Annual recurring revenue topped $100 million, according to the company.

A run rate takes a recent period and multiplies it to a year, so it is not audited revenue. The announcement did not say whether $3.25 billion is a pre-money or post-money valuation.

How fast the valuation moved

WhenRoundValuation
April 2026$80 million, led by Kleiner Perkins$1.3 billion post-money
August to September 2026Reports of talks for about $350 millionAbout $3 billion to $3.25 billion
November 2026$350 million, led by Elad Gil$3.25 billion

A rise from $1.3 billion to $3.25 billion in about seven months shows how strongly investors are pricing AI infrastructure and enterprise AI tooling.

Why it matters

Many companies want AI models tailored to their own data and processes, but training and running those models is hard. Startups that offer this as a service compete with the large cloud providers, whose results we covered in our report on Q3 2026 cloud earnings.

What to watch

  • Whether the revenue figure turns into long-term customer contracts.
  • How the company competes with larger platforms on price and performance.
  • Whether the valuation holds if enthusiasm for AI funding cools.
