MSI details Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld gaming PC ahead of June launch

MSI used Computex 2026 to detail its newest handheld gaming PC, the Claw 8 EX AI+, scheduled to go on sale June 23 with a starting price of roughly $1,500. The device features an 8-inch, 1920x1200 display running at 120Hz, configurations with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB SSD, and an 80Wh battery aimed at extending sessions away from a charger. MSI also redesigned the unit's ergonomics, adding Hall Effect analog controls and upgraded haptic feedback in response to common complaints about earlier handheld models. The launch adds MSI to a crowded field of PC-based handhelds competing for attention alongside new devices from Lenovo and other manufacturers entering the category this year.
